Step into a Boo-tiful Footprint

Celebrate Halloween with this fun craft idea.

A footprint ghost is a fun and easy craft project you can make with your child to celebrate Halloween, and the contrasting colors appeal to children who are visually impaired.

Supplies

• Washable white craft paint (e.g., Crayola kids’ paint)
• Black card stock or construction paper
• A small paint brush
• Googly eyes
• A wet washcloth or towel for cleaning feet or hands afterwards
  

Directions

• Set up your work area with the supplies.
  
• Paint your child’s bare foot with the white paint or dip it in a tray or plate of paint. Some children who are visually impaired have very sensitive feet so be sure to tell them in advance that you are going to paint their feet and it might tickle. You could try just a dab of paint first to see if they are comfortable with it. 
• Have your child step on the black paper to make a footprint. If your child can’t stand, press the paper on their painted foot. 
• Then add your own details such as googly eyes to make it boo-tiful!
