Three trainings are available to support our colleagues in early intervention, as well as professionals who conduct vision screenings as part of the EI Evaluation process.

Vision Screening Parent Questionnaire©, Birth to Age 3 (updated 2022)

This training is open to all professionals interested in using Colorado's Vision Screening Parent Questionnaire©. The training is available as live webinars or instructional eLearning videos. A final quiz is available after you attend the training. A passing score of 80% or higher connotes successful completion. To schedule a live webinar for groups of 10 or more, click HERE.

Objective Testing

This training prepares professionals to conduct an in-person eye exam, including fixation, visual tracking, pupillary reflex, and corneal light reflection. The training is provided in person in your community. Email [email protected] to schedule training in your area.

Vision Screening & EI Evaluations

This training is for EI evaluators responsible for conducting vision screenings as part of an EI evaluation. This training is provided as a live webinar. Email [email protected] to schedule a training for you and your colleagues.

Vision Screening Parent Questionnaire©, Birth to Age 3

This training is open for all professionals interested in using Colorado's Vision Screening Parent Questionnaire© (updated 2022).

Objectives:

• Understand the importance of vision screening, including the impact of visual impairment to a child’s global development.
• Understand Parent Questionnaire© terminology.
  
• Score the Parent Questionnaire©.
  
• Determine appropriate next steps and referral, when appropriate.
• Understand whom to contact for ongoing support and training.

Vision Screening Objective Testing Training

Objectives:

• Understand goals of vision screening objective testing.
  
• Use support materials to effectively perform objective testing on children three months to age three, including fixation, visual tracking, pupillary reflex, corneal light reflection.
  
• Determine appropriate next steps and referral for vision follow-up, when appropriate.
