Vision Screening Protocol© Training — Self-Paced Online

This self-paced training prepares non-medical professionals to use the Vision Screening Protocol© with children from birth to age three. It focuses on identifying children who may need evaluation by a pediatric eye doctor and guiding caregivers in supporting a child with potential visual impairments.

What you’ll learn:

• The importance of early vision screening and how visual impairments can affect a child’s development.
• The four components of the Vision Screening Protocol© and how they work within our secure HIPAA-compliant cloud-based platform.
• How to use the Scoring Guidance© to assess family and medical histories, eye appearance, visual behaviors, and caregiver concerns to determine screening results and recommend next steps.

Prerequisite:

• None

Format & Duration:

• Self-pace online video
• 60 to 90 minutes, depending upon your pace.

Certification:

• Pass a final quiz to demonstrate proficiency and receive a certificate (includes 2.0 clock hours credit)

Objective Vision Testing Training — In-Person

This training equips non-medical professionals with the skills to conduct in-person eye exams, focusing on essential assessments such as fixation, visual tracking, pupillary reflex, and corneal light reflection.

• One-hour, in-person session
• Offered in partnership with the Colorado Department of Education, Deaf-Blind Project
